Sales Support Engineer – Edinburgh, Scotland

Position Description

We are looking for a technical-minded graduate for the position of Sales Support Engineer. The role will involve providing technical support and expertise to our field engineers, and existing or prospective customers. The work can be quite varied and will involve gaining an in-depth knowledge of Actify products, and the technologies on which these are deployed. There will also be opportunities to contribute to new product developments.

Essential Skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, demonstrating the ability to explain complex ideas and solutions to others
  • Problem solving ability, showing determination and creativity in finding solutions
  • Good knowledge of Windows operating system and software Ability to learn and take on knowledge of Actify’s products, and related technology
Desirable Skills
  • Ability to write and debug software using a high-level language such as Java, C#, etc
  • Experience configuring and setting up servers running Windows Server software
  • Experience using Virtual Machine software and managing VM servers
  • Experience in a customer-facing role, providing technical support or other service

CAD Software Engineer – Edinburgh, Scotland

Position Description

We are looking for a highly motivated, skilled CAD software engineer to design and implement algorithms for a 3D/2D CAD viewer, primarily coded in C++ and C#. You will work with a small team of local and remote developers utilising third-party libraries and frameworks.  As a key contributor on our teams in Edinburgh and San Francisco, you will have the opportunity to work on leading edge concepts, with guidance from some of the biggest manufacturing companies globally.

Essential Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the following skills:

  • Excellent understanding of 2D and 3D graphics algorithms, techniques and math
  • Experience in the use of at least one CAD software package
  • Knowledge of Object Oriented analysis and design
  • Passion for writing good code and great apps
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Familiar with Agile development (Scrum)
  • Proficient in at least one object-oriented language (C#, Java, C++ etc)

Software Engineer (PDI) – Edinburgh, Scotland

Position Description

We are looking for talented software engineers to help them build the next generation of Product Data Intelligence (PDI) applications. The position will involve contributing to the design, implementation and testing of new PDI applications, conducting research and learning to use a wide range of software technology. Areas covered by our PDI software engineers include front-end web applications development, data visualisation, NoSQL database management, web services and service-oriented architectures. There is great potential for the right person to carve their own niche in our emerging software stack.
